Frank C. Lunquist
Mr. Lunquist is President of Pragmatic Technology, Inc. a company he founded in 1982. PTI is a manufacturers' representative and consulting firm. He is a founder and previously Vice-President of Marketing for AETRIUM, Inc., of North Saint Paul, Minnesota a manufacturer of SMD handlers. He has had many years experience in technical marketing, senior project engineering and advanced concept engineering at AETRIUM, Inc. (Founder), Tescom Corporation, Micro Component Technology, Inc. (MCT), Medtronic, Inc., and the 3M Company.
His education includes a BME (5 year degree) from the University of Minnesota and he is a graduate of the University of Saint Thomas' Mini-MBA Program. He has completed advanced course work in marketing, sales, business development, project management, electrostatic discharge and numerous technical subjects. He enjoys doing staff dynamic training and electrostatic discharge control seminars for small groups. He is an active investor in start-up companies and advisor to business entrepreneurs.
EXPERIENCE OF MR. LUNQUIST:
- Experienced manufacturer's representative to the automated test/production equipment industry. As a principal/manufacturer, he has successfully set up a rep organization and understands the relationship of the rep to both the principal and the customer. He looks for long term professional relationships with his principals.
- Extensive experience in technical marketing and hi-tech engineering within the automatic test/handling equipment industry at both the component and printed circuit board ATE level.
- Numerous successful experiences in project planning, staffing and technical team motivation. Knowledgeable in business development structures, staff dynamics and organization effectiveness (OE). Extensive experience in technical documentation systems and specifications. Has designed to OSHA, UL, FDA, and CSA requirements. He is an active presenter on electrostatic discharge control and audit techniques.
- Extensive experience in nurturing and moving state-of-the-art projects along from initial concept through manufacturing and distribution. He is particularly knowledgeable in upper management justification techniques of capital equipment, decision analysis, quality design and value engineering.
- A named inventor of seven (7) patents in various industries including three (3) handler related patents dealing with high-frequency signals within the IC testsite. He has assisted others in patent writing and illustration.

Recent USAR Positions: Historian for the 88th ARCOM. Director of Officer Courses within the 5042d USARF School where he was responsible for the Command and General Staff Officers Course, the Combined Arms Staff and Service School, the Officers Advanced Course and the Senior Warrant Officers Course. He continues to advise and speak on Leadership, Staff Dynamics, Professional Ethics, PSYOPS and other subjects. Retired Grade: Lieutenant Colonel. Many awards and honors as a Reserve Officer to include the Joint Service Commendation, the Meritorious Service, the Army Commendation and the Humanitarian Service medals. He retired from active status in August 1994. Vietnam Veteran.
